According to a report by the British Dental Association, around 600,000 dental patients are being seen by GP's across the country, estimating the cost to be around £26.4million for the NHS.

The number is alarming due to the large number of patients that are having to be seen by GP's in already stretched services. GP's are not extensively trained in dental issues and it highlights the existing difficulty patients and GP's would be experiencing in finding management and solutions to their specific dental problems.

Digital dentistry can bridge this void, whereby patients can attain professional advice from a dentist. The Tooth Fairy app allows patients to book a dental video consultation within minutes, at a time that suits them.
